Once, by chance, I found a beautiful indigo
handbag, a simple yet stunning piece that I gifted to my mother. The joy it brought her sparked an idea: Why not create more of these wonderful pieces with my own designs, pieces that carry our culture and bring delight to people's lives?
My journey led me back to Sakon Nakon, my hometown, known for its indigo weaving traditions. There, I discovered a world of Thai eco-friendly fabrics expertly crafted by local artisans. They use natural colors from tree bark, wood, and indigo leaves, weaving threads from cotton plants, a process that demands great patience and results in one-of-a-kind fabrics.
As I delved deeper into this journey, I realized that understanding this tradition meant learning from the ground up. I visited local centers and got to know the artisans who put their hearts into crafting these exceptional fabrics. This journey gave me a deep appreciation for the artistry behind each piece.
Today, I’m dedicated to creating clothing and leather items with Nanthicha Couture. I’m also a Thai Royal Silk Ambassador in Spain, sharing a piece of Thailand’s rich cultural heritage with the world. We provide tailor-made creations using exquisite Thai fabrics for Thai people abroad, and anyone who loves the sustainability and uniqueness of Thai handwoven fabric. Supporting us means enhancing your wardrobe and giving back to the indigenous artisans and my beloved country.
